PORTFOLIO

Fletcher Arts

Fletcher Arts is a new mixed-use building in the Fletcher Place neighborhood fronting the Virginia Avenue leg of the Indianapolis Cultural Trail. The Fletcher Arts Building will include 57 modern apartment units and 7,000 square feet of commercial storefront space on Virginia Avenue. Many of the units will have skyline views, and the commercial space will walkout directly onto the Indianapolis Cultural Trail. The building will include 58 garage parking spaces and 22 surface parking spaces.

In the design of Fletcher Arts, Blackline sought to reflect the new spirit of Fletcher Place as a gateway to a progressive community of artists, writers, designers and interesting people who are calling the near-southeast side of Indianapolis their home. Simple contemporary forms are articulated to express the playful culture of the neighborhood. The palette of color and materials is decidedly urban, and as the building meets the street and Indianapolis Cultural Trail, movement is expressed in the playful patterning of brick masonry. The design is a balance of urban fortitude and the lightness and transience of contemporary life.
